You are not allowed to buy data anonymously. When establishing the contract, the supplier and buyer are required to know each other’s respective identities. This mutual recognition enables:
- The supplier to decide whether or not he/she wants to sell the data
- The buyer to better evaluate the value of the data, based on the supplier’s profile
Can another company buy data for me?
Yes, on the condition that the supplier grants the buyer the right to grant, enabling that buyer to transfer the data to a third-party.
|Attention: in the license contract, the supplier may require prior consent regarding the identity of the third-party organization using the data under a sub-licensing agreement. In that case, the end user of the data must be known by the supplier.|
