How do I create a service account?

Service accounts can only be created and managed by administrators in your organization.

This feature must be included in your organization's subscription plan. If you do not have access to service accounts, please contact the orchestrator to have it enabled for you.

Service accounts enable your external applications to connect to the Data Exchange Solution you are registered with. With these accounts, your applications can interact with the DXS through API calls.

To create a service account, simply:

  • Click on your account management interface.

  • Select the “Your Organization” section.

  • Go to the “Service Accounts” step under “Integrations.”

  • Click on “Create a new service account.”


A modal window will appear so that you can enter the following information for each service account:

  • the name

  • the description

You can change this information at any time.

It is important to name your service account explicitly so that you can quickly find it.

You can deactivate or delete a service account at any time in the account settings.

Use cases

Service accounts allow you, for example, to obtain information via API about the purchases you have made, such as:

  • invoices

  • licenses and terms of use

  • files 

  • data consumption 

  • etc.
